Wow I can’t believe it’s the end of August!! This month has been absolutely crazy! I’ve been so busy travelling and spending time with my mom that the time just flew by! Now I’m hastily trying to pack, clean out my apartment, work, do end of contract stuff, finish up with last minute things, and not go crazy with feeling overwhelmed! I feel bad about not blogging for so long, and since I’ll be moving to Vancouver on Saturday, and jumping right into university on September 3rd, I know it’s going to be a while before I get another chance to blog.

So a little summary of my month: Continue reading

Enormous Kabocha Protein Shake

IMG_1914If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you may have noticed the lack of shake recipes and the plethora of protein cake recipes. (Check here and here for some awesome ones.) And that is because I always like to eat my calories, rather than drink them. Personally, if I drink a protein shake that is just powder mixed with water, I’m not going to feel satiated at all. There is nothing satisfying about that either!

However, throw in a whole bunch of ice cubes, add a couple secret ingredients, and voila! You have yourself a super filling, super satisfying, creamy delicious protein shake masterpiece what will make you feel full, satisfied and super happy! Or at least that’s how I feel. And for only a few extra calories.  Continue reading

Protein Bread

What do you do when you’ve run out of protein powder and you want something other than meat post workout?

This turned out to be a happy surprise- I didn’t really know what the result would be, but it was definitely a winner!

flaxbread (1 of 9)I wasn’t actually planning to photograph this, but it was definitely blog-worthy, so I just quickly took some pictures before I devoured it! Continue reading

My Iherb Recommendations

After being asked fairly frequently about what I usually order on iherb.com, I thought I would do a blog post. This by no means is a way to get you to buy from iherb specifically, nor the exact products, however, I just thought it would helpful. And yes, I do have an iherb code, which you can use to save $10 off your first order (AJO567)- however, I make like 1% or something really small, so honestly I’m not doing this to make money. And always, I’d recommend you to buy from whichever source is most cost-effective, ethical or sustainable for you- be it online or from a local store. I’m putting the prices that iherb currently lists, because that way you can compare it to whichever source you use.

Also, I recommend that you do your own research on the supplements- there’s a ton of information out there (both good and bad), so I’m not going into details about all the benefits etc on my choices. And of course- supplements are meant to supplement your diet. I certainly don’t take them expecting miracles to happen, and use them to add to my diet in case of deficiencies. Again, this is just what I use, adjust for your own goals. Continue reading
