A few years ago, I made a chicken cordon bleu recipe from Hungry Girl. I remember thinking it was really good, so I decided to try a version of that again. But, I wanted to include some vegetables. In the past, I’ve tried stuffing chicken with veggies, which can work fine, but this time I wanted to try in-casing the chicken in a vegetable. Enter cabbage rolls! I’ve never actually made real cabbage rolls before, and I’m not exactly sure what all goes down with them, but what I did worked pretty well, so I’m going to share it.
This week I’m breaking the post into two parts. This post will be the protein part. Next week will be the carb part. Together, these recipes have been my post workout meal of choice recently. So what is a protein stick? Um well basically it’s just a protein pancake that has been cut into stick form. Exciting right? Continue reading
This is such a challenging subject it seems. And yet it isn’t. But what makes a healthy diet is still such an area of confusion to so many people. And even when you follow your version of a healthy diet- is it really that?
I thought I would share my thoughts on diet. As a person who has been very food focused for many years, I’ve definitely read a great deal, experimented a lot, and am still finding myself frustrated and confused.
However, right now, and since I hired my coach, I feel better than I have all year. Do I look better? Well I still don’t feel as lean as I like to, but my show is still 6 weeks away and slowly but surely I am getting there. Before I go into what I’m doing now, I’ll share some of the things I’ve tried. And keep in mind, that although these things have worked for weight loss, they haven’t been very good for health or performance. Continue reading

Okay these aren’t real cookies, but I’ve been calling them cookies in my head for months now, so I’m going to continue to call them cookies. You have my permission to change the name or think otherwise. REGARDLESS, they are good. And cookie-like. Or maybe blondie-like. I don’t really know, I didn’t grow up eating blondies… yes okay cookie-blondie like. Aha! A much better name! Continue reading
