I have not been blogging for ages. Long story short- I’ve been super busy and have had other priorities. I’m currently in a very intensive Teacher Education program which has been very challenging, very fun and mentally quite rewarding! I’m really enjoying being back in student mode again- however the past 13 weeks I’ve actually been doing two separate Teaching Practicums, so am not really feeling like a student as much right now. Throughout all this I’ve been keeping up with my training very religiously. My life is pretty much school, training and food of course :D. The last blog post I made was around the time I started my very first prolonged “bulking” session, so to give a quick speed through of this: Continue reading →
This blog post started as me just wanting to share something, but it kinda evolved into something much bigger than that.. so read on for a look into my body journey from when I started competing back in 2010 to where I currently stand. This post is pretty revealing and I’m not really sure about posting it.. but it’s actually been kind of therapeutic for myself to go through it, and maybe it can help someone else who is going through the same thing.
But first, I just wanted to share something that is kind of exciting for me- I’m in a video and on a poster!!!
Check out the WBC Video.. you can see me for a split second at 0:56! Sorry I couldn’t embed it, so please click here to follow the link to the video 🙂
The big day has come and gone and now I can get back into blogging and recipe sharing! Last Saturday, April 27th, I competed in the Universe Perfection Korea World Body Classic. Wow long name! When I registered for the show, it was actually a Musclemania competition, but there was some sort of falling out with the organizers so the name changed. Doesn’t really matter to me- when I return to Canada and compete there, I won’t be entering that federation anyways. There are many aspects of the competition that I don’t really like- namely the costume and posing. Also, maybe just because it was in Korea, but many of the women did not look like athletes- just skinny and surgically altered. Not saying that women are not skinny or surgically altered back home- but it just seemed really pronounced here. I want to compete in the CBBF- Canadian Bodybuilding Federation, which is what I did when I competed in Fitness back in 2011. What I like about the CBBF is that you start in the Amateur comps and work your way up to the National levels. Then you can qualify to compete internationally and become an IFBB (International Continue reading →
This post was supposed to be about chicken. My plan was to make the best pre-contest competitor chicken recipe that I would love and love and love and be more than happy to share- but it isn’t. Or wasn’t. I mean I did make chicken this weekend, and I took photos and everything- but the recipe was in no ways amazing. No ways. So I’m not sharing it. I didn’t start a blog just to post any recipe that I used, just for the sake of posting.
As you know, I LOVE kabocha. Love Love Love Love Love Love Love kabocha!!! Actually now, I get a discount at my local “Angel Home Mart”- just a random Korean grocery store on danhobak 단호박, as it’s called here. I told them it is my favourite, and because they like me, they say “special discount, only for you” 🙂 Continue reading →
